txtBlaster allows up to four players to compete to prove who is the texting master. Players connect using Bluetooth and then compete to be the fastest at entering text using the familiar texting interface used for composing text messages. One player must act as the host for the game, all other players join the game as guests. The total number of simultaneous players is determined by the capabilities of the phone used to host the game. A single player practice mode is also offered, in this mode the player competes against 3 simulated opponents.
The rules of txtBlaster are simple. Players compete to be the fastest at entering text using the familiar text entry interface commonly used for entering text/SMS messages. Each game consists of five rounds. Players score points depending on their rankings in each round, for example, being the fastest player to enter the text in a four player round scores four points. At the end of the five rounds the player with the most points is the overall winner. The letter that must be entered is at the top left of the stack of letters. It is pointed to by an arrow. The player must push the phone’s number key that matches the letter the required number of times. For example, push the 7 key three times for the letter R.
